Overview
To collect web tracking activity from your website visits, you need to implement the Sona SDK. The Sona SDK captures data as users browse pages on your site. For maximum attribution coverage, we recommend installing it directly on your website, since ad blockers can sometimes prevent tag managers and their scripts from loading, which results in potential data loss. As an alternative, you can install the Sona SDK with Google Tag Manager. This guide covers the initial SDK setup and the steps to add the script to a range of common platforms.
Sona SDK setup
Complete these steps during onboarding to activate your tracking:
Decide whether the Sona SDK should capture form data, then click Yes or No.
For the maximum account identification and tracking accuracy, follow the instructions for setting up a Custom Tracking Domain (CNAME).
Add the Sona SDK directly to your website or through Google Tag Manager.
Note: this quick setup is designed to activate your data so you can start using Sona's account identification and attribution capabilities. When you are done, click Next to proceed to the Sona Growth Platform.
Installing the script on HubSpot CRM (website pages)
Log in to your HubSpot account.
Open the website where you want the script added.
Click the settings located in the top right.
Click Advanced, then paste the Sona tracking script in the Head HTML field.
Save your changes and publish your pages.
Installing the script on Salesforce (Experience Builder or Visualforce)
Log in to your Salesforce account.
For Experience Builder, open your site and go to Settings > Advanced, paste your Sona tracking script into the Head Markup section, and save your changes.
For Visualforce pages, edit the Visualforce page, include the script inside the
<head>section, then save and activate your changes.
Installing the script on Webflow
Go to your Webflow dashboard.
Hover over the site where you want to add the script and click Site Settings.
Click Custom Code to open the site-wide custom code editor.
Find the Head Code section.
Paste the tracking script into the Head Code field and click Save.
Publish the site to apply the changes.
Installing the script on Zoho Sites
Log in to your Zoho Sites account.
Open your website's editor.
Go to Settings > Head Code.
Click Header Code and paste the Sona tracking script.
Save and publish your site.
Installing the script on Shopify
Log in to your Shopify admin dashboard.
Go to Online Store > Themes.
Click Actions, or the three-dot button, then Edit Code for your active theme.
In the sidebar, open the theme.liquid file.
Paste your Sona tracking script right before the
</head>tag.
Save your changes.
Installing the script on Wix (Business plan required)
Log in to your Wix account and go to your dashboard.
Hover over the site where you want to add the tracking script and select it.
In the left-hand menu, click Settings, then select Custom Code under Development and Integrations.
Click Custom Code.
Paste your Sona tracking script into the provided code box.
Under Add Code to Pages, select All Pages to apply the script to your entire site, if this option appears.
Choose Place Code in Header to load the script as soon as the page opens.
Give the script a label, such as "Sona Tracking Script", and click Apply or Save to confirm.
Return to the dashboard and click Publish to make the changes live.
Installing the script on Squarespace
Log in to your Squarespace account and select your website.
In the left sidebar, click Pages.
Click Website Tools under Utilities.
Select Code Injection.
Paste the tracking script into the header text box.
Save your changes.
Installing the script on GoDaddy Website Builder
Log in to your GoDaddy account.
Open your website in the editor.
Go to Settings > Site Settings > Site-wide Code.
Paste your Sona tracking script into the Header section.
Save your changes and publish your site.
Installing the script on Duda
Log in to your Duda account and select your website.
Go to SEO & Settings in the left sidebar.
Click HEAD HTML and paste the code into the Head HTML text box.
Save and publish your site.

Log in to your Carrd account and open your site.
Go to Settings > Code.
Paste your Sona tracking script into the Head section.
Save your changes and publish your site.

Turn on form capture if you want Sona to automatically gather data from forms on your site and send it to your destination. If you only need basic page tracking, you can leave it off. You set this preference during SDK setup by clicking Yes or No.
