Workspace Settings: Contact Profiles

This guide walks you through configuring your CRM contact profiles in Sona. By properly setting up your contact profiles, you'll be able to import and map your existing CRM data, creating a unified view of your contacts across all your marketing activities. With a well-configured contact profile, you'll gain deeper insights into your customer journey and enable more effective targeting.

Prerequisites

  • Active Sona account with appropriate permissions

  • At least one connected CRM data source

  • Basic understanding of your CRM data structure

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Selecting Your Profile Source

  1. Navigate to the Contact Profile settings page

  2. In the Profile Source section, select your CRM data source from the dropdown

  3. Choose the specific contact list you want to import

  4. Click Filters if you need to import only a subset of your contacts

Step 2: Mapping Your Data Fields

  1. Locate the Mapping section on the page

  2. For each Sona field listed on the left, select the corresponding data column from your source report

  3. Ensure critical fields like email, name, and company are properly mapped

  4. Verify all mappings before proceeding to the next step

Step 3: Managing Custom Attributes

  1. Find the Attributes List section

  2. Review which additional attributes you want in your Sona CRM contact profiles

  3. Click +Add to create new custom attributes

  4. Click the - Sign to remove any unnecessary attributes

  5. For each new attribute, specify the data type and source field

Step 4: Saving Your Configuration

  1. Review all your selections and mappings

  2. Click Save to apply your changes

  3. Wait for confirmation that your settings have been saved successfully

  • Map your most important customer data points first

  • Use consistent naming conventions for custom attributes

  • Consider which attributes will be most valuable for segmentation

  • Regularly review your mapping as your CRM data structure evolves
