Essential Tips for New Users

Quick tips for new Sona users: where to explore your visitor and account data, how to connect integrations, and the key configurations that surface your best-fit leads.

Overview

These tips help you get the most out of Sona in your first few sessions. They cover where to explore the visitor and account data Sona collects, how to connect Sona to the rest of your stack, and the handful of configurations that surface the visitors and accounts that matter most to your team. Work through them once tracking is live and your first data has come in.

Exploring your visitor data

To learn your way around quickly, click the help icon in the lower-left corner to show or hide the help sidebar for the page you are viewing. From the main menu, open Web Visitors or Accounts to explore your tracked data:

  • Web Visitors: a table of all your tracked visitors. See the Web Visitors article.

  • Accounts: the companies Sona identified from those visitors. See the Accounts article.

  • Associated people: once Sona identifies a visitor's account, it enriches that account with associated employees and key people and their contact information, automating the research you would otherwise do when prospecting.

  • Filters and audiences: use filters across Sona's data points to analyze your visitors and accounts, then build Audience segments to target with tailored campaigns.

Integrations

Connect Sona to the rest of your stack so your data flows into your existing workflow:

  • Destinations: sync your Audience datasets to other platforms using the Destinations feature.

  • Connectors: integrate Sona with other platforms via the Connectors page.

Essential configurations

A few settings help Sona surface the visitors and accounts that matter most to you:

  • Intent Signals: configure Intent Signals to better understand a visitor's interests, then align your sales and marketing efforts accordingly.

  • Alerts: set up Alerts to get Slack notifications about new identified visitors.

  • ICP Fit Score: configure your ICP Fit Score attributes on the Scoring settings page to surface visitors and accounts that more closely match your Ideal Customer Profile.

  • Personas: add attributes on the Persona settings page to single out qualified leads from the additional people Sona finds for each account.

FAQs

Where should I start after setup?

Open Web Visitors or Accounts from the main menu to explore the data Sona has collected. Use the help icon in the lower-left to read context for whichever page you are on. Once you are comfortable browsing, apply filters and build Audience segments to focus on the visitors that matter most.

How does Sona identify the people behind a visit?

When Sona identifies the company associated with a visitor, it enriches that account profile with associated employees and key people using third-party data, including their contact information. This gives you additional leads for each account without manual research. Use the Persona settings to highlight the roles you care about most.

How do I get notified about new visitors?

Set up Alerts and connect Slack to receive notifications when Sona identifies a new visitor. Combine Alerts with your ICP Fit Score configuration so you are notified about the accounts that best match your Ideal Customer Profile, rather than every visit.
